PHOTO DIARY

Model:         Rumi Neely
Blogger:      Rumi Neely

In the ever evolving world of online style chronicling, it is not unusual to find a blogger who is just as comfortable, if not experienced, in front of the camera as they are behind it.  These bloggers are quite often former or current models or individuals involved or associated with the "industry", (or maybe not), who then translate their relevant experiences and interests through not only taking photos of others, but also actually modeling their fashion interests themselves.  Rumi Neely began blogging in 2007 not to put the spotlight herself, but instead to highlight her Ebay store at the time, Treasure Chest Vintage.   Six years later, she has transformed into not only a blogging sensation in international fashion circles, but an in demand model represented by the famed NEXT modeling agency.  Rumi's natural affinity in front of the camera has led her to walk in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, appearances in the Free People October 2010 catalogue and a Bulgari ad campaign, among other things.  Recently, Rumi also showcased her design capabilities by working with brands such as Shopbop, REVOLVE in the creation of an online boutique, and Dannijo in the creation of a six piece jewelry collection.

In this series, Rumi shares photos from a recent shoot  to Maui, Hawaii and show us some of the reasons for her success.  What I enjoy most about the photos is that I not only she Rumi in some of her sartorial moods, but I got a distinct visual of the wonders that attract so many to the beautiful island of Hawaii.  Visit Rumi's blog www.FashionToast.com to see the complete reel of the trip.  Enjoy!
