SKIRTING THE ISSUE
Now you all know how much I live for a skirt. I think besides the brazier, or a sweet LBD (little black dress), it is one of the most important garment ever invented for women, and in many cases, men. History also agrees with me. Native cultures everywhere have consistently shown the skirt, whether cleverly fashioned from straws or palm leaves, has historically been the first garment of choice when thinking of clothing the human form.
The reason is obvious; It is an efficient yet stylish way of covering your nether regions. Corseted, constricted, Victorian women realized what has become critical to today's hard working, multi-tasking, empire building, cosmopolitan super female: the importance of being able to get dressed as quickly possible, while still remaining fashionable. Nothing helps to accomplish that like a simple skirt that fits fabulously. The only thing you have to add is a great top and shoes and viola, instant style. In Paradise there is the also the added benefit of having just a bit more ventilation in sultry, humid weather.
I have begun purchasing a few of my key must have pieces for all the activities I have planned this summer and I wanted to show you what was on my list. Of course, Zac Posen is always at the very top because I sincerely believe that besides my Boo, he is the only man that has not only a supreme understanding of a woman's body, but how fabric must conform to the body, and not the other way around. Alice and Olivia and Vivienne Westwood are also top picks of mine. But I won't go on an on; I will just let you have a look for yourself. Don't forget to drop me a line if you feel there is anyone I may have overlooked!
