Street Style....TRINIDAD and TOBAGO

CARNIVAL COUTURE

Though the raucous celebrating begins shortly after Christmas, the lively bacchanal that mark the island of Trinidad's carnival season does not officially commence until the month of February when the entire island as well as international visitors participate in the extended masquerade gala. The abundance of food, music and fashion are usually themed around a plethora or ideas as varied and complex as the rich cultural background that forms the canvas that is modern day Trinidad.

This season Karen and Kathy Norman, (who also happen to be twins), after making the a drastic career change from finance and investment banking to event designers made their hugely anticipated debut of K2K Alliance Partners which is their line of much sought after, highly detailed costume designs.

The dynamic design duo credit their mother, a seamstress, and their father, a textile importer for their design acumen and a love of art for, "...their fashion predilection..." Their goal is to create works of art that can be worn after the carnival season had concluded.
