The commencement of Milan fashion week was heralded with a vivid, kinetic display of  womanhood by Gucci. While still maintaining some of it's signature or foundation ideas with  pops of red, valleys of deep green and lots of logos, this show were zones away from the Gucci of yesteryear.

For his Spring 2015 collection for Gucci, creative director Alessandro Michele shows that at winter's conclusion our focus will become quite detail oriented.  Though his first collection at the design helm for the fashion super power was greeted with some controversy, his second saw fashion lovers and critics representing all mediums hailing  the creative vision of a colorful resort season filled with intrepid, stylish, high thinking, nerd inspired ladies who refuse to wear contacts.  Women who are so confident about just how in touch they are with both their feminine and masculine sides, they want the world to know it!

Inspired by the Carte de Tendre – a "map of love", published in 1654 by  French writer Madeleine de Scudéry, and which featured as a print on one of the dresses, the is collection one that you have to see and then and let marinade over a glass of wine.  Which is hat's exactly what we did.  You  need several moments to take it all in; the details of the trimmings and embroidery, the patterns texures and colors, the varied influences, it's like a fine bodeaux that you have to sip and then languidly roll over your tongue.  It is simply a highny nuanced delectable visual feast.
